as to his own gain by exposing them, he is facing 30 years in jail and he’d love to shorten that.

a couple of more things:
1. i couldn’t care less if he or you are a kohen.
2. there is no halachik difference between speaking lashon hara on a kohen as opposed to anyone else.
3. it is permitted to speak lashon hara about solomon dwek because he removed himself from Torah Law.
